“The Walk to End Alzheimer’s brings our community together around a cause that touches so many families,” said Gwen Mikinski, Southern Arizona Walk Manager for
the Alzheimer’s Association. “Whether you have lost someone to Alzheimer’s, are caring for a loved one, are living with the disease, or simply want to make a
difference, there is a place for you at the Walk. We want Tucson to come together and show that no one facing Alzheimer’s has to face it alone.”
A Growing Movement in Southern Arizona
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing public health challenge, affecting individuals, families and caregivers throughout Arizona. The Alzheimer’s Association is committed
to providing education, support and resources while advancing research toward prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
The Tucson Walk provides an opportunity for the community to turn personal experiences into action. Funds raised through the Walk support the Alzheimer’s
Association’s mission, including research, local education, caregiver support, advocacy and free resources for individuals and families affected by dementia.
Last year, the Tucson community demonstrated tremendous generosity and commitment, with more than 2,100 participants and hundreds of teams coming together
to support the cause.
Join the Movement
Individuals, families, businesses, community organizations, schools, healthcare organizations and faith-based groups are encouraged to participate by creating a
team, joining an existing team, volunteering or making a donation.
Every participant has a reason to walk. Every dollar raised brings the Alzheimer’s Association closer to a future without Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
