Pima Federal Credit Union Provides $10,000 in Education Awards.

2022 Education Award Recipients

Tucson, Arizona – June 15, 2022 –

Pima Federal Credit Union (Pima Federal) is pleased to announce $10,000 has been awarded to five high school graduates who will be pursuing higher education this fall through the credit union’s Education Award Program. Each of the five students received $2,000 to help offset the cost of college expenses. Pima Federal Vice President of Marketing, Jennifer Overpeck stated, “Reviewing submissions for our annual Education Award is always incredibly inspiring, but even more so this year due to the obstacles students faced during the pandemic. These students not only shined academically despite these challenges, but still managed to give back to their schools and communities in meaningful ways. A huge congratulations to this year’s winners and to all graduating seniors! The future is brighter with you all in it!” As a credit union founded by teachers, Pima Federal has remained dedicated to supporting education in our community and the Education Award is one of the many ways this is displayed. The credit union understands the value of a quality education and realizes the financial burden it can present for a student and their family. Pima Federal strongly believes the investment in our youth will enhance the standard of living in our communities, helping to build a better tomorrow for all.

What if every business in Green Valley and Sahuarita started reimagining customer service as a spark for connection? What if we stopped treating customers like transactions and started welcoming them like guests? Not just at the fancy places. Not just when it’s convenient. But every single day. In every single interaction. People don’t remember the receipt. They remember how you made them feel, especially in a place like this, where conversations happen at the post office, where neighbors still wave, and where reputation is earned one moment at a time. Right now, everyone’s talking about AI, automation, streamlining operations, and solving the hiring puzzle. And yes, those things matter. We believe in innovation. We believe in efficiency. But in the rush to optimize, we can’t afford to overlook what still moves the needle more than anything else: the basics. A warm welcome. A personal connection. A guest experience that feels human. These aren't soft skills. They’re competitive advantages. Especially in a small town. At the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce, we believe business is personal. And we believe connection isn’t just nice to have, it’s the secret to long-term success. When someone walks into your business, whether it’s their first time or their fiftieth, they’re bringing more than a credit card. They’re bringing questions, hopes, hesitation, and curiosity. You have the chance to shape that moment. To set the tone. To make them feel like they matter. What would change if we saw every person who walked through the door as a guest, not just a customer? Not perfectly. Just intentionally. With presence. With kindness. With heart. That’s where loyalty begins. That’s where word-of-mouth grows. That’s where trust is built, and business grows, not just in dollars, but in depth. We see it happening all around us. The café that remembers your name. The store that holds something aside because they know it’s your style. The business that doesn’t rush the interaction because they know that being seen is just as important as being served. Those are the businesses that thrive. Not by chasing the next big thing, but by doubling down on what matters most: the people they serve. That’s what we’re about at the Chamber. Rooted in connection. Focused on business. And always looking for ways to spark something local. Know a local business that leads with heart? Tag them below and let them know they’re seen. #RootedInConnection #FocusedOnBusiness #SparkSomethingLocal #GreenValleySahuaritaChamber
