Strengthening Our Region: Freeport-McMoRan Grant Advances ElevateEdAZ
The Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber Foundation is proud to announce a significant investment in our region’s future. Freeport-McMoRan has awarded a $103,000 grant in support of the ElevateEdAZ Workforce Development Program, strengthening a collaborative effort to build a stronger, more connected education-to-career pipeline for Southern Arizona.
We were honored to welcome representatives from Freeport-McMoRan to the Chamber office for an official check presentation. It was a meaningful moment — not just for our organization, but for the students, educators, and employers who will benefit directly from this work.
This funding supports a partnership between the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber Foundation, the Green Valley Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce, the
Sahuarita Unified School District, and the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation. Together, we are working to expand hands-on learning opportunities, deepen relationships between industry and schools, and help students develop the skills and confidence needed to step into the workforce.
Freeport’s investment accelerates that progress. Their commitment to education and economic development has long been a cornerstone in our region, and this grant demonstrates their continued belief in the power of community partnerships.
We are sincerely grateful for Freeport-McMoRan’s support and for their ongoing dedication to strengthening Southern Arizona’s workforce. This investment makes it possible for us to reach more students, support more employers, and continue building a talent pipeline that serves our community well into the future.
