The Green Valley Sahuarita Salvation Army is hosting it’s Annual Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 24th at the Green Valley Recreation West Center. The meal will be served from noon to 2 PM and will include ham and all the fixins. This meal is open to all who may like to share in the holiday spirit and enjoy a good meal with others in the community. If interested in attending please call the Salvation Army office at 625-3888 so we have an idea on how many we will be serving. If you know someone who may not have family in town and may need help getting to the West Center let us know. Families are welcome.
The Green Valley Sahuarita Salvation Army relies completely on volunteers to cover nearly 3,000 hours of bell ringing starting the day after Thanksgiving and running through Christmas Eve and they can use your help. The dollars raised through the Red Kettles stays right here to help fund the Army’s programs throughout the year.
Perhaps your business or organization would like to cover a location for the day.
Bells will be rung Monday through Saturday at the three Walgreens Drugs Stores and Walmart, and on Fridays and Saturdays at the two Safeway Grocery Stores and the Fry’s Grocery Store. If you would like to volunteer your time to cover any of the two hour shifts that begin at 8:00 AM and end at 6 PM, please call the Green Valley Sahuarita Salvation Army at 625-3888 or stop by the office at 555 N. La Canada Dr. in Green Valley (in the same building as the Green Valley Council and Cayley Cakes) to sign up.
